Gladiolus Place is managed by a Board that is responsible for policy-making, fund-raising and supervisory aspects of operating the home.

Mrs Patricia Lum – Vijayendran
Mrs Patricia Lum-Vijayendran is passionate about the mission of helping teenage girls, women, marriages and families. Together with her husband, she presently co-facilitates Marriage Builders Alliance, an informal coalition of Christian marriage-building ministries.
Currently, she works with families and their children as a counsellor. Being Montessori-trained, she worked as an educator for children aged 2 to 12 years old for 18 years.
In her adult life, she has served in Sunday School, facilitated purity workshops for youth groups, befriended troubled teenage girls and journeyed with them.
Elder Tan Pong Meng
Elder Tan Pong Meng graduated in Social Work from the University of Singapore in 1973. Since then, he worked as an officer in probation, volunteer programmes, drug rehabilitation, prison welfare, senior citizens and family protection. He obtained a Graduate Diploma in Counselling Practice at the Counselling and Care Centre and joined Care Corner Counselling Centre in 2005 and worked there till retirement.
Mr Jimmy Tay
Mr. Jimmy Tay is an Asia Regional Development Manager of a software company and travels extensively within Asia. He has served in the Leadership Ministry in his previous church before joining Covenant Presbyterian Church. Together with his wife, Hazel, Mr. Tay feels the burden to minister to the girls of Gladiolus Place and hopes to see lives transformed through Christ.
Mr Lim Ker Sheon
Mr Lim Ker Sheon is a director in legal practice where he practices primarily construction and commercial litigation, as well as corporate work.
He currently serves as Director of BLC Community Services, serves on the exco of Law Christian Fellowship and holds the position of Honorary Secretary in the Management Committee of Gladiolus Place. Happily married and a father to 4 lovely sons, Mr Lim is actively involved in various charities and NGOs.
Rev. David Lim
Since 1 October 2014, Rev. David Lim has assumed the leadership role at the Presbyterian Community Services as the Executive Director. His involvement with the Presbyterian Community Services started in 2002 when he was invited to be part of the Resource Panel. Subsequently, he was elected to the Executive Board from 2004 to 2011.
Currently, Rev. Lim sits on the School Management Committee of Grace Orchard School and is a member of the Providence Care Centre Board of Management.
Under the umbrella of The Presbyterian Church in Singapore, he has been appointed as a council member of the Presbyterian Education Council. He is also part of the founding team to help in the establishment of the Presbyterian Care Singapore Network, beginning in 2014.
As the Presbyterian Community Services is a Foundation Member of St Luke’s Hospital, Rev. Lim too, has been invited to sit on its Chaplaincy Committee.
Mr Shaun Ho
Mr Shaun Ho holds a Bachelor in Mass Communications from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). He is currently the Sales and Operations Manager at Euro Pac Logistics Pte Ltd. He’s also a committee member of the Youth and Young Adult Ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Mr Ho has been an active volunteer with Gladiolus Place since 2008.
Mrs Lai Mui Fong
Mrs Lai Mui Fong is currently Head of the Family Support Ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church. She is responsible for developing the Family Life stage transition ministries as well as equipping and mentoring leaders.
Her training in Computer Science brought her to Mass Rapid Transit Corporation as a Program Analyst, responsible for the computerised system of the first North-South MRT line. She also worked as a Business Systems Analyst in the American President Line, studying and recommending the computerisation of the port locations of Keelung, Taichung and Kaohsiung in Taiwan. She lectured in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, teaching Mathematics in 1982 and Business Information Technology from 1990 to 1994.
Mrs Hazel Lau-Tay
Mrs Hazel-Lau Tay is working as Church Manager of Covenant Presbyterian Church (CPC). She also serves in the worship team at CPC. She is happily married to Mr Jimmy Tay for 25 years, and both feel burdened in their hearts to minister to the girls at Gladiolus Place. It is their greatest joy to see lives transformed.
Rev Abel Lee
Rev Abel is an Associate Minister of Covenant Presbyterian Church, overseeing the Chinese Congregation and assisting the Senior Pastor in managing the Church staff team. He loves music and has composed songs for his congregation. Happily married with three beautiful children, he is passionate about community work, reaching out to the people on the fringe, young couples preparing for marriage as well as seniors in the community.
Rev Abel is a regular devotion speaker at The Helping Hands. He sits on a few key committees with the Synod of the Presbyterian Church in Singapore, namely, the Theological Review and Response Committee, the Presbyterian Care Singapore Network, and the Committee for Retired Ministers and Pastors. He is also the Honorary Chaplin of Presbyterian Community Services, and the Vice Chairman of Princess Elisabeth Primary School’s Parents Support Group Executive Committee.
Rev Abel wears many hats with one mission in life: To help others become a better person than before.
A Public Service Commission scholar, Michelle served with the Rehabilitation and Protection Division of the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports (known today as the Ministry of Social and Family Development) in the areas of policy development, research as well as direct rehabilitative work.
To understand the needs of the voluntary sector, Michelle assumed the role of Assistant Director at Andrew & Grace Home (now known as Gladiolus Place) in 2006, overseeing the organisation’s operational, administration, and policy matters. Since 2008, Michelle’s strong convictions in parenting has led her to devote her time and attention to parenting, imparting values, and developing character in her young children.
Happily married with three lovely children, Michelle is passionate about working with youths and families, parenting, education and leadership development. A trained pianist, Michelle serves as a musician providing band leadership at her church.
Michelle returned to Gladiolus Place as Director in September 2018. She is also a part-time teaching staff at the National University of Singapore and the Singapore University of Social Sciences.
